- Self drive car/scooter hire, unlimited mileage but petrol not included. The hired vehicle must be used exclusively on the island of Ischia and under no circumstances whatsoever transferred to the mainland or neighbouring islands. Car/scooter must be driven by contract signatory only. Use by persons other than the contract holder is not allowed. The hirer must be in possession of a clean full driving licence issued at least one year ago. One day minimum rental, for which a supplement of Euro 2.58 will be applied. Duration of hire is 24 hours, beginning at 9,00 am on the first day and finishing at 9.00 am on the second day etc. The lenght of hire is of 24 hours. The 24 hours of the fìrst hiring day start at 9.00 a.m. and finish at 9.00 a.m. of the following day. The hirer should control the general condition of the car/scooter before taking possession of the vehicle as eventual damage not declared will be payable by the hirer. The hirer is furthermore obliged to inform the hire company of eventual accidents which occured during the rental of the vehicle, however minimal and which have not caused damage to objects, persons or animals. The hirer will also be held responsible for any fines levied against the vehicle during the rental period. The hire company must be advised of any unpaid fines when the vehicle is returned to the hire company. The applicable amount should be paid to the hire company, who in turn will settle the fine. All unpaid fines will be payable by the hirer and notification of such will be by registered post informing the hirer of the amount owed including postal costs. Should the fine remain unpaid the hire company will engage the appropriate legal authorities for reimbursement and the hirer will be liable for all legal costs. For eventual disputes the Law Courts in Naples are competent. In case of breakdown during hire, the rental company should be telephoned and they will act accordingly. Any expenses incurred by the hirer will not be reimbursed.
